Review

The architect Ignacio Zuberbuhler Larreta, Enrique Larreta's grandson, inherited these lands and in 1995. Together with his children, began with a family project of a Resort and a Country Club, counting within this project an 18-hole golf course that runs through streams and hills, designed for all levels of players.

The course was initially laid out by Angel Reartes in conjunction with the Zuberbuhlers, who then continued with the construction. They were advised on the design of the greens by Arch. Marcos Capdepont, who was staying at the house to make the drawings while the building was being built. Tifway 419 meadows were implanted on the fairways, with excellent sprinkler irrigation, the greens are of the USGA type standard and Agrostis L93 grass. In December 1999 the first 9 holes and the Driving Range were inaugurated, temporarily using the inn as a Club House, in 2003 the second 9 holes were enabled.

In 2014 the spacious Club House was inaugurated, designed by the architects Ignacio Zuberbuhler Larreta and Claudia Mestre, maintaining the colonial style imposed by Enrique Larreta.

It is a characteristic of the El Potrerillo de Larreta golf course, the stream that comes into play in 5 of the first 9 holes, giving it a very noticeable difficulty. The second nine holes, have another stream surrounding them, also the second nine being more complicated due to its yardage. Another notable detail of the course is that from the beginning it was tried to maintain the naturalness of the landscape. In almost all holes there are 4 and 5 different starting tees, in this way we manage to equalize the level of play and without this advantage, it would be almost impossible for high handicap players to enjoy this competitive court. The course is par 72 and 7,163 yds.
