Bariloche can receive foreigners by plane

Bariloche confirmed the Nation's decision: the airport and the Pérez Rosales pass join the safe corridors to entry into the country.

January 31, 2022

Bariloche has two gateways for foreign tourism. It remains to adjust details and confirm, above all, the interest of airlines in making direct flights from Brazil or Chile to Patagonia, without escalation in Buenos Aires.

Until Friday, foreign tourists arrived in Bariloche after a stopover in Buenos Aires or another point in the country, but from now on, with administrative decision No. 85/2022 of the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, The Bariloche international airport and the Vicente Pérez Rosales border crossing that connects with Chile through Lake Frías are enabled.

These two safe corridors had been requested by the province months ago, when other points of entry into the country began to be enabled, but the confirmation did not arrive until this weekend, when Governor Arabela Carreras communicated it through her Twitter account and then through an official statement from the provincial government. However, this administrative decision has not yet been published in the Official Gazette of the Nation.

In the case of the border crossing with Chile, we must now wait for the neighboring country to include it among its income, something that it has not done so far with the Cardenal Samoré land crossing, after marches and counter-marches due to the advance of the pandemic with the new Omicrom wave.

The Vicente Pérez Rosales pass is located at one end of Lake Frías and can only be reached from the Argentine side by lake.

Currently, Bariloche receives flights from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque and Ezeiza), Cordoba, Mendoza, Rosario, El Calafate and Viedma.
